I actually began my fitness journey at the age of 7 as a competitive gymnast. At the age of 17 I had to stop as I just got too big! I started a nursing program with a major in Geronology and continued until 1991 until I switched to fitness as a career. After my second child I topped the scale at 212. I began attending step class and fell in love with fitness, mostly because it made me feel good about myself and gave me so much energy! It was not too long after that I became an instructor. I love to see individuals of all ages, shapes and sizes work beyond their comfort zone and not only emerge stronger and fitter than they ever thought possible but happier and more confident. I am passionate about helping people in any way I can and definitely love to make people laugh.

Julie has taught cycling classes for over a decade in Chicago and Portland and now Gold Beach. Julia is continually inspired by her students and the feeling of connection that the fitness community brings into her life. Combining interval-based, invigorating rides with carefully crafted playlists, her classes harmonize athletic performance with moving meditation.


Monica Bowman

I am a mother of 3 amazing young children who has a passion for fitness, healthy living and the outdoors. I have been participating in sports since I was very young and always enjoyed an active lifestyle. Exercise has played a large and healing part in my life and I am excited to share my experience and passion for fitness by bringing high energy fun to each class. I love to challenge and motivate people and leave feeling refreshed both mentally and physically.
